Improving User Convenience for Electronic Travel Authorization(K-ETA)

Foreigners who wish to enter the Republic of Korea without a visa must obtain a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) before boarding an airplane or ship.

With K-ETA approval, you are allowed to freely enter and exit the country during a specified period.

From July 3, 2023 (Monday), the validity period of K-ETA will be extended to 3 years (previously 2 years).

Furthermore, minors (under 17 years old) and senior citizens (over 65 years old) are excluded from the electronic travel authorization application.

In other words, minors and senior citizens are allowed to enter the country without prior electronic travel authorization, but if they wish to take advantage of benefits such as exemption from completing an entry declaration form, they can apply for the electronic travel authorization.

Please keep this in mind when applying for K-ETA.

If your K-ETA is denied, our Wigo Administrative Office can assist you in entering Korea through issuing a short-term visa, so please feel free to inquire.
